FAQ
What is Dr. Illich specialty?
Dr. Illich Navarro is a board certified specialist in plastic surgery by the Plastic, Aesthetic and Reconstructive Surgery Mexican Association, and one of only a few Mexican plastic surgeons to be board certified in the United States as a diplomat of the American Board of Plastic Surgery.
When to have plastic surgery?
Dr. Illich emphasizes the importance of maintaining a healthy and youthful lifestyle by exercising and eating right. Undergoing cosmetic or plastic surgery is an entirely elective decision meant to complement such a lifestyle. It is therefore up to each of you to decide if the time is right to have a plastic surgery procedure to improve your appearance.
When can I return to work?
Minimally invasive and endoscopic plastic surgery are Dr. Illich’s forte. With these techniques, the downtime is much less than with previous techniques. As small hidden incisions are used in such cases, the downtime is much shorter. You can typically return to work in 1-2 weeks after your procedure based on your occupation and the particular surgery you are having.
How long until swelling subsides?
You can likely go back to work 1-2 weeks after surgery, but your swelling will be noticeable by those who know you well. Others who may not be so familiar with your face or figure will not be able to tell you have had surgery at 2 weeks. It generally takes 6-8 weeks for 80% of the swelling to subside after any type of surgery.
